Wooden Sandpits: Custom Built in Cape Town
A wooden sandpit with a lid gives children a place to dig and build, and keeps the sand covered when playtime is over. We make each sandpit to order in our Cape Town workshop.
Our sandpits suit gardens of all sizes, from small townhouse yards to big lawns. You choose the length, width and depth, plus the stain or paint colour. A popular option is a lid that folds out into two benches, so the cover becomes seating. We can also add corner seats or a canopy frame for shade. B-grade pine is our standard timber. A-grade pine is cleaner and costs more.

Questions about sandpits
How long does a sandpit take to make?
Every sandpit is made to order, so timing depends on the size, the design and how busy the workshop is. Our current lead time is [LEAD TIME TBC], and we confirm it with your quote.
Do you deliver and install?
Yes. We deliver and install in Cape Town and surrounds, and our delivery area is [DELIVERY AREA TBC]. You can also collect from our workshop.
Does the lid keep cats out, and will it last outdoors?
A closed lid helps keep cats, leaves and rain out, but only while it is shut, so close it after play. Pine outdoors must be sealed and resealed regularly, and we seal with [TIMBER TREATMENT TBC].
Can I choose the size and colour?
Yes. We build to the space you have and the depth of sand you want. You also choose the stain or paint colour and whether to add a bench lid or seats.
How do the deposit and payment work?
We ask for a deposit of [DEPOSIT TBC] to start the build, and the balance is due on completion, before delivery or collection. Custom work is non-refundable once we have started, but you get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of ordering.
