A wooden potting bench gives you a proper place to repot plants, sow seeds and keep tools tidy. We build each one to order in our Cape Town workshop, at a height that suits you.
Potting benches suit keen gardeners, small nurseries and anyone tired of working on the ground. You choose the length, the worktop height and the finish. We can add a back panel with hooks, a top shelf, a lower shelf for bags of soil and a sunken tray. We also make child-height potting benches for little gardeners, so they can work alongside you. B-grade pine is our standard timber. A-grade pine is cleaner and costs more.

How long does a potting bench take to make?
Every potting bench is made to order, so timing depends on the size, the design and how busy the workshop is. Our current lead time is [LEAD TIME TBC], and we confirm it with your quote.
Do you deliver and install?
Yes. We deliver and install in Cape Town and surrounds, and our delivery area is [DELIVERY AREA TBC]. You can also collect from our workshop.
Will a pine potting bench last outdoors?
Pine used outdoors must be sealed, then resealed regularly to keep it protected from sun and rain. We seal with [TIMBER TREATMENT TBC] and will tell you how often to reseal. Brushing off soil and water after use helps too.
Do you make potting benches for children?
Yes. We make child-height potting benches for little gardeners. Tell us your child's age or height and we set the worktop to suit.
How do the deposit and payment work?
We ask for a deposit of [DEPOSIT TBC] to start the build, and the balance is due on completion, before delivery or collection. Custom work is non-refundable once we have started, but you get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of ordering.
