About Topcut Woodworx

Topcut Woodworx is a small carpentry workshop in Cape Town run by Chad. We make custom wooden pieces to order: kids’ play furniture, beds and cupboards for the home, and pergolas, decks and chicken coops for the garden.

How Topcut started

Chad has been building furniture and outdoor pieces for Cape Town families since [YEAR FOUNDED TBC: old site says 2012, Facebook says 2019]. [CHAD’S STORY TBC: two or three sentences in Chad’s own words on how he started and what he enjoys building.]

What we make

• Kids’ play: mud kitchens, playhouses, sandpits with lids, easels, sensory tables, work benches and front-facing bookshelves.
• Home furniture: custom beds and bunk beds, built-in cupboards, shelves, dining tables and chairs.
• Outdoor: pergolas, decks and patios, chicken coops, pet enclosures, planter boxes and potting benches.

Timber and finishes

We build in solid pine. B-grade pine is our standard: it is strong and has more knots and natural character, so every piece looks a little different. If you prefer a cleaner, more even look, we can use A-grade pine, which has fewer knots and costs more. Timber prices change with grade and supplier stock, so we confirm the price when we quote.

You choose the stain, paint colour, edge details, tabletop thickness and leg style. We focus on the small details that make a piece feel solid and look finished.

How we work

• You send us an idea, a photo or a rough size on WhatsApp or through the quote form.
• We suggest sizes, timber and finish, and send you a quote.
• A deposit starts the build. The balance is due on completion, before delivery or collection.
