Wooden Kids' Bookshelves: Custom Built in Cape Town
A front-facing kids' bookshelf shows the covers, not the spines, so little readers can spot the book they want and reach it on their own. We make each one to order in our Cape Town workshop.
Our standard front-facing bookshelf is 650 mm high, 1000 mm long and 350 mm wide, which suits most bedrooms and reading corners. We can also build it to your measurements. You choose the stain or paint colour and the edge details. We can add a storage box at the bottom for toys, or a top that doubles as a seat. B-grade pine is our standard timber. A-grade pine has fewer knots and costs more.

How long does a kids' bookshelf take to make?
Every kids' bookshelf is made to order, so timing depends on the size, the design and how busy the workshop is. Our current lead time is [LEAD TIME TBC], and we confirm it with your quote.
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver in Cape Town and surrounds, and our delivery area is [DELIVERY AREA TBC]. You can also collect from our workshop.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it off. Keep it out of strong direct sun so the colour stays even. We recommend fixing it to the wall.
Can you make it bigger or a different colour?
Yes. Our standard size is 650 × 1000 × 350 mm, but we can build to your measurements. You also choose the stain or paint colour.
How do the deposit and payment work?
We ask for a deposit of [DEPOSIT TBC] to start the build, and the balance is due on completion, before delivery or collection. Custom work is non-refundable once we have started, but you get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of ordering.
